Study Facilities

SBNC/BRL (sbnc.pitt.edu)

The sleep lab is a research center located on the 13th floor of UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital on the University of Pittsburgh campus. This is where study visits, particularly the overnight sleep studies, will take place. Each room is equipped with a personal bathroom, shower unit, and TV.

Other areas used in the sleep lab are the exam room (where the physical and blood draws will take place), the lounges, testing spaces and wire-up room (for the overnight PSG studies).

PET center

The PET center where the PET/CT scan will be done is located on the 9th floor of UPMC Presbyterian. The facility includes three patient waiting areas, to use while the pre-scan preparations are being completed.

MRRC

MRI scans will be done in the Magnetic Resonance Research Center, located on the 8th floor of UPMC Presbyterian. The center includes a waiting area and changing room, with lockers to place belongings during the scan.
