About Our Study

The University of Pittsburgh is conducting a research study to examine how sleep impacts cognition and the development of Alzheimer’s disease. 

You may be eligible to participate if you: 

  • Are between the ages of 65-85
  • Have difficulty staying asleep 
  • Have not had a traumatic brain injury
  • Do not take psychiatric medication
  • Do not abuse drugs or alcohol
  • Have not been diagnosed with sleep apnea

The study involves 2 daytime and 2 overnight visits. One daytime visit will include a PiB PET/CT scan. Each overnight visit will include a sleep study, paper and computer cognitive tasks, a blood draw, and a 45-minute MRI scan. 

Participants will be compensated. This is a research study and will not provide you with clinical treatment.
